BEFORE AND AFTER LASIK SURGERY

Pre-Operative Instructions
Report any eye infections or redness prior to the surgery.
Report any changes in the vision or condition of your eyes prior to surgery.
Do not wear any eye makeup or makeup near the eyes (no makeup at all is preferred).
Discontinue soft contact lens wear at least 1 week prior to surgery and gas permeable contact lenses at least two weeks before surgery.
Bring someone with you to help escort you home.
Take your normal medications prior to the surgery.
There is no restriction on normal meals prior to surgery.

Post-Operative Instructions

DO NOT RUB OR TOUCH YOUR EYES!!!!!

Apply the prescribed medications as directed after the surgery.
|

Immediately call your doctor or your hospital emergency contact with any sudden
decreases in vision or increases in pain.
|

Do not expose your eye to water, dust or dirt until approved by your surgeon.
|

No swimming until approved by your surgeon.
|
| - |
You should apply preservative-free artificial tears after surgery.
|
| - |
Closure of the eyes or sleep after you return home will help speed recovery.
